Our 4th of July weekend was packed full of fun times. The morning of the 4th we went over to my in-laws house out in Sapulpa to take part in an old fashioned street parade. There were not any huge floats or marching bands. No this parade was something special. It is a tradition that takes place every year on the 4th of July on this little Sapulpa drive. Some of the nicest people you'll ever meet join together with their kiddos and dec out their bicycles, big wheels, little motorized cars and riding lawn mowers in red white and blue to ride in style in this one of a kind parade.
Everyone lines up in front of the big American flag and says the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer to kick it off. Even the dogs are dressed for the occasion.
My little man Keegan got to ride in the back of his Grandpa's old pick up truck with his Okie Nana and his Daddy.
He was pretty happy about it.
There were a few sprinkles but no one let that spoil their fun.
We plopped Keegs down in one of the neighbor's wagons. You can tell by his face that he wasn't too sure about it.
Once the parade made it to the end of the street, everyone gathered together for coffee and festive doughnuts. The caffiene and sugar were welcomed by all.
